Whether you’re a history lover or simply seeking a way to honor veterans, the Indiana War Memorials Foundation is the perfect place to volunteer and share your time and talents.
We offer several different types of volunteer opportunities:
Help catalog and preserve the artifacts, weapons, uniforms, battleflags and documents pertaining to Indiana’s wartime history. Organize and maintain storage areas, library and flag rooms.
Help tell our friends and the public the story of veterans as the guardians of our state’s greatest public spaces. We need writers, graphic designers, photographers and videographers to assist with our quarterly newsletter and other communications.
Help the museum staff and the Indiana War Memorials Foundation log information about our Hoosier veterans and the Friends of Hoosier Veterans.
Help visitors get the most out of their museum experience. Docents can either assist scheduled visitor groups or walk-in guests.
Greet guests that visit the Indiana War Memorial and assist with other administrative tasks in-between welcoming visitors.
Have a green thumb? With 24 acres, there are many opportunities to help with landscaping and gardening projects.
Do you enjoy detective work? Help the Indiana War Memorials Museum staff track down information about veterans and their equipment.
Training is provided at the first volunteer session.
Volunteer opportunities are intended for individuals over the age of 18. Children can also volunteer as long as they are under the supervision of an adult. We also welcome groups. Please call 317-650-9058 for more information on group volunteer opportunities.
