Thursdays on the Mall: In The Heights
The Indiana War Memorials Foundation invites the downtown community to gather in Indy’s backyard to enjoy summer evenings and free movies. Enjoy multiple food trucks, beer from Sun King Brewing, popcorn, games, and more. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, soak in city views, and spend time with your neighbors. The fun kicks off at 7pm with DJ entertainment from Deckademics and movie starts at dusk!
Kick off summer in Indy with a tale of summer in New York!
About In The Heights: From the mind of Lin-Manuel Miranda – Lights up on Washington Heights…The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.
Food & Drink:
North Street will be closed and you’ll find food and drink for your enjoyment. Onsite food for In The Heights includes tacos and Mexican food from Samanos, hot dogs from The Coney Lady, and complimentary popcorn from Pop Weaver. Sun King will also be present with fresh local beer for those 21 and over.
Parking:
Go Green! If you are in the greater Downtown Indy area, feel free to ride your bikes or take the Redline to the American Legion Mall! If you are traveling by car, there will be limited street parking available along Meridian Street and Pennsylvania Street, as well as on Vermont Street and Michigan Street.
