NOTICE

On Saturday, June 22, we will have shortened hours due to the Indianapolis Monumental Mile. The Indiana War Memorial will be open from 1-5 p.m., and the Soldiers and Sailors Monument will be open from 1-5:30 p.m. All roads around our facilities should be open by noon. However, parking will be available on Michigan Street that morning.

All are welcome Nov. 9, 2019, as the Indiana War Memorials Commission and Downtown Indy, Inc. usher in Veterans Day weekend with a patriotic celebration from 4 – 7 p.m. on Monument Circle.

The event, brought to life by the Indiana National Guard, will include food, beverage and entertainment featuring local country music sensation Clayton Anderson leading up to the debut of Indy’s “Signature Salute.” This program will bask the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in new LED lighting against a video backdrop from a 240,000 lumen, 4K laser video projection system with a synchronized original score from the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Coordinated video and light projections will feature images of historic significance and military might as light illuminates the surrounding building facades and statues on the Monument. As the music crescendos, four intense beams of light will soar skyward from each quadrant illuminating Victory (atop the Monument), signaling Indianapolis as the Crossroads of America.
