Did you know that since WWII Indiana has not only served the nation proudly by providing men and women to the armed forces, but the state has also been an important source of industry, labor, and war materials. Indiana has provided hundreds of thousands of items used in combat, and to support our armed forces both at home and abroad. 

Visit the Indiana War Memorial and Museum to learn more about the manufacturing contribution Hoosiers have made throughout the decades to the United States military efforts, such as the Allison CD-850-4A manufactured in Indiana. The Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

General William H. Harrison began his political career in 1798, and later became the first governor of the Indiana Territory. 

Did you know William Henry Harrison has a statue at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument? Visit the Indiana War Memorial & Museum to learn more about the Indiana Territory and Governor Harrison. While you are downtown, visit William Henry Harrison’s statue at the base of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
