Commemorate a Veteran’s legacy this Independence month by purchasing a Brick of Honor through Indiana War Memorials Foundation. 

The bricks are placed at the foot of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis, creating a lasting tribute to each veteran’s service and sacrifice.

Did you know the Eli Lilly Civil War Exhibit is open in the Indiana War Memorial Museum, including artifacts on display to the public for the first time ever. Visit the exhibit from Wednesday to Sunday between 9am and 5pm. Admission is Free!

On this day in 1777, the Second Continental Congress officially adopted a singular flag for the Continental Army. For the first time the Thirteen Colonies had a single flag under which to fight the British. 

The first "American" flag consisted of thirteen white and red stripes, signifying the thirteen colonies and thirteen white stars in blue "representing a new constellation."
